Description

Fredrick Pabst assumed control of the Best Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1867, upon the retirement of his father in law Philip Best.
When the Chicago fire of 1871 destroyed nineteen breweries in that city, Milwaukee became the center of beer brewing in the U. S.  Pabst then became determined to greatly expand brewing capacity and sales, and in 1893 Pabst was selected best at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago.  Pabst became known as the "Blue Ribbon" beer after that, and future advertising reflected that new status by including blue ribbons in it's advertising.
Taverns and bars all over the U. S. featured copies of the "Blue Ribbon" advertising signs as Pabst continued to grow through the decades until it's peak in the 1970's.
The print offered here is a reproduction of the iconic 1910 advertising sign that became one of the best known product symbols in the country.
Printed on archival, heavy weight luster surface paper using Surecolor Ultra-chrome HD pigment inks for true color reproduction and multi generation display life. Paper weight is 240 gsm.
Image is printed on 11" x 14" paper.
