Canadian National Railways
advertised itself as America’s Largest Railway System based on its vast network of track in all ten provinces of Canada and eleven states of the United States.
In 1971, the Canadian National rail network included 25,500 miles of track, not including double-track, sidings, yard tracks and spurs.
Study the rolling stock of this giant railroad in full color in the more than 300 color photographs of this book. This volume covers only passenger cars and Maintenance-of-Way equipment.

For many years
Canadian National Railways
was the largest railroad in North America with its vast network of 24,147 miles of main track (1950) in all 10 provinces of Canada and 11 states of the United States.
To serve this network over the years CNR owned and immense fleet of freight cars, 107,552 in 1950.
The more than 300 color photographs of this book show a good cross sampling of that roster.
